There are so many options for Up/Down Wall Lights to highlight the front of your house. Sometimes you only need a single down rather than an up down and this is all dependant on if there is an eave or roof close to the where the light will be placed. If a light is going to be placed close to an eave or roof, a single down is recommended over an up down light because an up down light will just reflect and lose it’s purpose. Below is a picture where up downs have been used correctly and incorrectly. Where the X is, the light is too close to the eave and you can see that all the light does is bounce off and reflect whereas the lights where the tick is do their purpose perfectly.
