You may have heard of them, you’ve most likely seen them, but you may not actually know what they are and what they are used for.

Track Lighting

Track lighting is a system where you have lighting fixtures, typically track heads, that are attached along a track. Tracks usually come in 1 metre or 2 metre lengths, but they can be linked with joins to create a longer continuous track to cover more area.

The beauty of using track lighting is once you have your track sorted, you can add or take away lighting as you please. You may be using them to highlight some art on a wall, so you may only need a small number of track heads. Or you might be using them in a showroom so you would have a larger track and have many more heads to create the right effect for your space. But you have total flexibility into the amount of light you have.

In a commercial space, we commonly see these used to light up showrooms or retail spaces. Sometimes they are used through the entirety of a store, other times they are used to showcase certain pieces or areas. But they are widely used in homes too. They are used commonly along hallways, outdoors under pergolas, the kitchen and they are also used in living areas at times too. You can create a beautiful ambience with track lighting because it’s not just an overall wash of bright light. It’s concentrated points of light that draw your eye to particular parts of a room and it creates a lot more depth and contrast.

The Zoom is the latest addition to our track head family. It really does it all! Our 15w and 20w Zoom track heads are our most popular and widely used track heads. They are available in black and white so as to suit all areas they are used in.

It’s tri colour (warm white, cool white, daylight) as well as having a beam adjuster. So, you have full control over the beam angle anywhere from 10o to 60o. Beam angles are important especially if you are using the Zoom track head to highlight things like art, a feature wall or even just a particular space.

Zoom Beam Angles

The narrower the beam angle, the further the light will travel. Conversely, the wider the beam, the less the light will travel. So it’s important to factor that in when using track heads but having the adjustable beam angle of the Zoom really helps with that issue!
