At Lights2you we are passionate about making a difference in providing the perfect lighting for all kinds of tasks, whether it is for home or work. Often we are asked to recommend Lighting Fixtures for different spaces and do our best to provide correct information. So when asked by Par Lou Make-up Studio ‘what Lighting Fixture would best suit make-up application’, we were excited to help.

Par Lou Make-up Studio is owned by Sharon Leigh, who is a highly experienced professional make-up artist in Sydney. Appropriate lighting fixtures are integral for proper make-up application and the light colour needs to be natural. If the light colour is not natural, then the perception of the client’s skin tone can be altered and the make-up applied will be different to the client’s natural complexion, which will become obvious once stepping outside into broad daylight. You wouldn’t expect to go into a shoe shop and be sold the wrong size of shoe, just as you’d expect for your make-up to match your natural skin tone.

When recommending what lighting fixtures Par Lou Make-up should use next to the mirrors in her make-up studio we instantly thought of our T5 Slimline fluorescents. The T5 is a rectangular tube light which could be placed on either side of the mirrors and above (vanity lights), giving the make-up artist ample amount of light to work with. The T5 also has a sleek and modern design which contributes to the beautifully designed studio and the flush finish of the T5 against the sides of the mirror adds structure to the space.

Once Par Lou Make-up was happy with the T5 Lighting Fixture, they were quick to decide on the colour of the Fluoro. From her experience, Cool White (4000k) is the closest artificial light colour to match natural sunlight and is her secret weapon to what makes her brides look stunning. Par Lou Make-up has been kind enough to share a couple photos of the studio with us and is very happy with the lighting fixtures.

Lighting is an integral element of any room, whether it is a make-up studio, an office, or any room in your home. Different tasks need to be performed in different spaces, and in order for those tasks to be executed a sufficient amount of light is needed to be supplied. Whatever the room or whatever the task, Lights2you is committed to providing you with the best possible advice and products on the market to meet your lighting needs.
